Has anyone created anything MST related that they would like to share with everyone? Perhaps some custom Servo knitted pot holders, an .mp3 song about Space Mutiny, a youtube video of you in a Torgo costume or an etch-a-sketch masterpiece of T.V.’s Frank?
I’d like to see what we’ve created. I know we’ll mostly get links to photos of bots (I built a Servo years ago, myself) but I’m sure there’s some unique stuff too.

And let me expand the topic further to include RiffTrax and Cinematic Titanic, things you’ve either made yourself or encountered, which brings me to this coolness, which I encountered the other day. Neat, huh?

I’m a geocacher, so I’ve occasionally included MST3K references in my caches (and have even placed DAP DVDs in some). Since the show has never aired here, I’m probably the only one in the province that gets them.
Anyhow, in the geocaching world, it is generally considering the lamest, most shameful cache to hide, or to find is a 35mm film canister, stuck under the skirt of a lamppost.
So, I created a series of cache hides where you had to find a bunch of separate 35mm film canisters, in order to find the final container, which was also a 35mm film canister underneath a lamp post skirt. As I was posting them, I found myself joking about the shame of it all, and decided to add this simple little image to the final cache:

I’m sure a lot of you out there have seen that yellow and black “Watch Out For Snakes” graphic online (you know…the one that looks like a highway sign, with the theater seats silouetted at the bottom.). Well, during a bout of boredom, I ended up making myself a laminted, suction-cupped, “baby on board” version of the sign for my car’s back windshield. A friend asked me why I’d do that, when so few people would be likely to know what it meant.
I simply replied: “Don’t worry, the RIGHT people will get it.” :smirk:
The only thing I ever did was to make an MP3 Demo cover of the MST3K Love Theme. I patterned it after the Man… or Astroman cover, so it has the Joel lyrics. I’d post if I knew how to post MP3’s…..
A few years back I gave a bunch of old T-shirts to some crafting friends of mine. One took an MST3K shirt (white with Tom and Crow on it) and made it into a reversible back pack (turn it inside out to make the other character the “featured” one.

The most unimaginative thing imaginable – I built a Tom Servo gumball machine.

In high school ceramics class I made Tom Servo for the assignment of making a whistle. You blow up his hoverskirt and it whistles.

Before I got my SOL model years ago, I made my own MST3K diarama using a NASA moon landing kit and lots of spare model parts. One day I’ll get around to photographing it and sending it to this site.
This topic sure is timely for me, seeing as I’ve just completed my Joel Robinson costume and a small size Servo puppet to tote along with me too for this Halloween’s festivities! I made a posterboard milk carton large enough to fit over my head for the missing child Halloween costume idea from Godzilla vs. Megalon. The list of ingredients on the side includes 100% of your daily recommended allowance of Ben Murphy.

RockyJones & mst3ktemple Hey thanks! IMHO, “California Lady” is actually not a bad little song. It had no place in a movie about a giant Navajo alien lizard, but, as a bassist myself, I was VERY impressed with the “Eskimo’s” bass lines.
I made myself a “Manos:Hands of Fate” T-shirt years ago for a sci-fi/cheesy movie themed party. I’ll have to dig up pics.
I bought “Music Creator” a few years ago, and while learning the basics of the program, I took various sound files I found online and made the “MST3K Robot Mix” using looped bass & drums tracks included with “MC”. I also made a few other MST “songs”, including one with Gypsy going “I don’t get you” over and over. Unfortunately, the pc those “songs” were on crashed a few years back before I had a chance to copy anything to cd, and now I can’t find some of the sound bites I’d used before, so they’re not much more than fond memories now.
Dunno if this counts and I didn’t make my cat, but I did name him Tom Servo. My kids have already decided that if we ever get another cat, we will call him Brain Guy.

One of my friends made a “Master” (Manos : Hands of Fate) costume and wore it at Anime Central 2005 in IL. We figured no one would no who he was. Needless to say by the end of the con, he had harlem of various Anime girls.
Plus, due to boredom, the day before the con we had him stand next this funky looking statue in the lobby of the Rosemount Hyatt and read random passages out loud from a hotel room Bible as the Master.
About the most “awesome” thing I’ve made is a drawing of the Crow model from the 20th Anniversary set. Well, in nine different angles. The part that makes it special was that it was for my AP art portfolio my senior year of high school, and the piece itself was one of five (out of 24) physically sent to the judges for super-special-extra scrutiny.
This might be redundant but last night I found a subliminally inserted “4” and “20” at the 20:26 and 20:27 mark of the “Reefer Madness” three riffer version. Never noticed it before (I think this is my third viewing, but my first on the big screen TV). Also probably helped that I was high. Nothing sharpens your acuity for perceiving the weird like some high powered weed.

Those of you with a more encyclopedic knowledge of the show may recall it being riffed in episode 518 with The Atomic Brain.

Sort of MST3K related: I go to the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, and for an editing class, I had to put together a music video using public domain footage. Included on the stock footage site were Teenagers from Outer Space and the trailer for The Deadly Mantis, so I mined those heavily and combined them with a really lame Japanese film in the vein of “Prince of Space”. The whole thing is set to “Final Attack Ride Hibiki” from Kamen Rider Decade (look it up on YouTube, it’s the one with a bunch of Riders playing a giant crab to death with their instruments).

When My son was in Middle School, back in the late 90s, he was into making bead art.
One Saturday morning, while watching MST3K he got the idea to make a Tom Servo.
Without any pattern or drawing, he completed his Tom before the show was over.
I kept it, of course, and this last summer, at the San Diego Comic-con, my son got a picture
