….okay. My order is placed, and I will set up a lawn chair next to the mailbox and begin the 3-month wait. If I could make a suggestion for a future release, I’d really like to see a figure of the Thunderbirds Are Go! Mike robot from Prince of Space.

  7. Hold on… Brian Ward said both the Turkey Day and regular versions of the episode would be there. Here it says the Turkey Day bumpers and host segments will be included as a special feature. What up with that? Not that I’m complaining or anything…

That looks great! Hope I can afford it. I wish Servo’s mouth was open but other than that it looks more accurate than Shout Factory’s Crow or Moore Collectible’s Servo figures. No base to match Crows? I detached mine from the base anyway and am trying to think of how to build him legs. Toothpicks? Playdough?

Hope we get a Gypsy next!

Yeah, I’ll be a tad disappointed if the Turkey Day host segments are only viewable as a separate extra, and you can’t watch the episode with them in place (and not only because I prefer that version of the episode greatly over the regular version). The DVD format was designed to do exactly that kind of thing with seamless branching, so there is absolutely no reason for them not to do it here. This set is looking excellent, and I’ll be getting it either way, but it will still be a big shame if they don’t take advantage of such a basic DVD function to make both versions of the episode viewable.

  24. Cronkite Moonshot says:

@happy #17 I sure hope that’s the case. As I said this is exactly the kind of thing seamless branching was meant for in the DVD format, and it would be very easy for them to have either version of the host segments viewable within the episode itself, as well as separate extras without even having to duplicate the footage on the DVD.

I, personally, would prefer the Joel-era Cambot. That, to me, has always been the “offical” version.

I’m really excited for the Turkey Day bumpers!

    # 24 Cronkite – It is in the Shout Factory Community forum where Brian says both versions are included…I think that is awesome…
I also love the art colors on this….

  33. FordPrefect says:

#31 Wack’d – Assuming they can eventually get the rights to all the movies on the show (I’m dreaming, I know) that means there will be more than 40 of these sets. In that case, they could probably make one version of Cambot to go with one set, then release the other one later.

I must say I love this mix of episodes. They are all good ones.
‘The Corpse Vanishes’ is one of my favorite season 1 episodes, and ‘Lost world’ is one of the best of season 5.

I’ve always preferred this ‘Santa’ (521) as opposed to ‘Martians’ (321) for a christmassy laugh, and any season 7 episode is good. I love them all. (I lean toward ‘Melting Man’ though for top honors)

    Attention SHOUT! FACTORY:

    My dream set:

    621 Beast of Yucca Flats
    704 The Incredible Melting Man
    804 The Deadly Mantis
    814 Riding With Death

This should be a pretty interesting set. You have four unaired episodes of MST3K that comes in a nice box. However, they do not come in high definition so that’s a let down.

It also comes with lobby cards and a figuring.

I’m just gona give this one a rental. I know MST3K fans are going to hate me for this, but you can already watch these episodes on TV.

  38. Olivaw says:

And people say the Shout Factory sets aren’t as good!

I’m excited almost as excited for more of those lobby cards as I am for the Servo figurine. ALMOST.

Oh and the episodes are good too I guess.

I need the mini Tom Servo, so I can place it next to my full size Tom Servo.

“…they do not come in high definition so that’s a let down.”

“…you can already watch these episodes on TV.”

    Palm, meet forehead.

Anyway… over the past year Shout has greatly exceeded my early expectations. At least in terms of episode selection, this looks to be their best set yet – Warrior, Santa and Beast are all A+ episodes in my book. Throw in a fairly robust list of extras and I’m sold. Happy to see that Servo is coming too… Crow’s looking a tad lonely on my shelf right now.

    Pre-ordered.

Relating a bit to the Tom Servo figurine, which one would you like next? Gypsy, Cambot, Mike, Joel. Or how about TV’s Frank, Brain Guy,
Pearl or her son (either Dr. F. or Star Child)?

Or how about figures from the movies, say Krankor or Prince of Space? PoS would be quite durable since your weapons would be useless against him.

How can these be unaired episodes, yet, we can already watch them on TV?

First you have to admit you have a problem. Because, we can’t help you until you are ready to help yourself.

Ordered my copy through the Satellite link. Not going to try to rush to Best Buy and such for the few copies if any they get.

This purchase will eat into my valuable holiday dollars so…CT and Rifftrax had better get on the ball early with new dvd releases or my cash may be gone!

I wonder if the limited edition will be metallic like Shout’s 20AE. It doesn’t look like it will be, based on the pic, but I guess we’ll have to wait to see.

Other than that, this is the best release SF has produced to date, hands down!
