“Maleficent” has done great at the box office, and that got me thinking: which MST3K movie villain would you like to see more of? Whose origin story would you like to see? For me, it is the doctor in “Bride of the Monster.” Not only is his story great — driven from homeland, mocked as mad, mad, only to be proven right. We should get see how he met Tor.
Speaking of Tor, I’d like to see the exciting adventures of Dr. Javorski of “Beast of Yucca Flats.” Imagine the Cold War intrigue as Tor lumbers around Moscow evading the KGB.
You?
Strangely enough, I’d like to see a bit more of Zap Rowsdower’s back story. Who’s the woman in the picture? How did Sardonis’s cult locate and first contact him? What was he doing all those years in between (besides building up a nice empty beer-bottle collection). Why was he named ‘Zap’? There could be some fun stories there.
Also, Madame Estrella (?) and Ortego would have a rather fun back story in Incredibly Strange Creatures… Just how in blazes did they get to where they ended up where they did, doing what they do? A college kegger gone horribly wrong? Who knows, but I’m curious…

wouldn’t mind seeing the rise to power of ‘Thanatos’ before Sea-er Neil Connery defeated them in ‘Operation double 007’
‘Girl in Lovers Lane’ maybe a younger Jesse with straight eye and somewhat tamer rapist qualities slowly pushed over the edge by rejection after rejection.
And ‘the Master and Torgo’ need i say more?

I’d like to see The Master’s backstory on how he became evil and met Torgo.

Phantom of Krankor and his Chicken men should have a really interesting back story. Where did he get the giant from? Why does he wear a lace tutu? Why doesn’t he wear under garments? We need answers!

In “The Dead Talk Back”, it’s implied that Krasker has worked with the police before on other cases. I wouldn’t mind seeing a few of them. I’m not saying they’d be good, but they might be interesting.
And, from “Space Princess”, I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the other adventures the people of Moonbase Alpha went through on their journey through the unive…um, wait a minute.

I want to hear all about Yuri, from Werewolf. Why is he such a dickweed? Exactly how many Kirk Douglas movies has he watched in his lifetime? Where is he really from, and can his accent be identified? When he was a child, did he want to grow up to be a mad scientist, and does his evil arise from his sense of failure in being only a mediocre assistant mainstream scientist? And what the heck is up with his hair?

I wants ta know more about Bob Evel of Time Chasers fame. What did he do
in future Vermont to bring on the apocalypse? Is Gen-Core a Koch Brothers
subsidiary (think about it). Why was his office in a junior high library
(were they redecorating his headquarters)? What are his dreams. What makes
him a successful, evil beurocrat? Did he go back in time to start the
financial backing of deep 13? Inquiring minds want to know.
Oh, and while we’re at it what about the hamburger diner owner in I Accuse my Parents?
What did he do with all the guns he confiscated? Where were all the bodies of the other transients who visited his diner, why did…

I`ld like to know who the heck ‘Prosser’ was and just how this whole wacky-doodle post-apocalyptic ‘Omega’ thingy got started for a “Warrior Of The Lost World” to ride into the middle of.
Other than that, I`ld like to know just WHO ‘High Priest Xenos’ was and why a suposedly good & wise leader would have such a back-stabbing, scheming snake in a position of trust…(maybe it was the funny hats…?) for an “Outlaw Of Gor” to have to take down.
Ahh….Fun.

I think it’d be interesting to see how Eegah handled surviving for so long after his family (and everything else he knew) died off. Did he hibernate? Did he cultivate his rockin’ crepe hair beard? Did he watch out for snakes?

Though he is not really a villain so much as he is another classic anti-hero, I’m betting Ortega’s history is just brimming with tales of intrigue, romance, adventure, and dance, filled with the kind of exhaustive nuances that would make for some of the most impressive cinematic parallels ever to grace the silver screen.

How are the Stricklands related in “Touch of Satan”? Obviously Melissa is old but are her “parents” directly related? And what other tragic events happened at Lucinda’s hands before Jody arrived? I’m sure the answers are more chilling than we realize for Luther to be so blase about the blood Lucinda is covered in.

Recall those many firearms on Walter Deaney’s/John Saxon’s wall in Mitchell.
Every one of them has a story – each weapon represents a sordid chapter in Walter Deaney’s sordid bigger than life … life.
I want to know those disgusting chapters.
I want to know the real Walter Deaney. I want to understand what trauma and past abuse made it so easy for him to kill Johnny Mathis.

Red Zone Cuba: what did Griffin do that landed him in prison? I’m sure it must have been despicable. Or maybe he was framed and prison made him bitter and greedy. He could have been a regular guy with a family… playing poker with the guys on Fridays… taking the kids to the zoo…heh heheh heh.. no he couldn’t.

I’d like to know more about JB Christians from “The Wild Wild World Of Batwoman”. What led to his double life as Rat Fink? Was he actually a successful businessman, or did wacky crime capers pay the bills? Can he really just create duplicates of himself, or does he undergo a massive recruiting campaign to find people willing to dress like him to thwart superheroes? And, is he big on seances?

Well, I jumped on this topic as soon as I could this morning but I see #1 beat me to the punch about my gut reaction to the question: Zap Rowsdower.
But staying with “The Final Sacrifice,” whatever happened to Troy’s mother? How did he end up with his aunt? And what about Pipper — is he one of Jim Hensen’s Muppet voice actors in his spare time? If so, how did he end up in Alberta??

No one’s mentioned perhaps the most compelling character in MST3000—Kline!
Where did this noted thespian learn his acting skill and ability to mezmerize
a room by just appearing? Was a he a noted British Shakespearian actor who
had to flee the UK (pursued by a Scotland Yard inspector obsessed with his
capture) and adopt an American persona when his wife was beaten
and killed by a one legged-man (using his prosthetic leg), with Kline unjustly
accused and convicted? No one knows.

I feel like for this discussion we’d be assuming that any backstory would have to only be as good as the original movie. With that said, I wouldn’t mind knowing more about the Soultakers.

FUTURE WAR leaves so many unanswered questions–for one, why do cyborgs from the future need to recruit dinosaurs from the past to fight their war against cardboard boxes of the early 1990s?
As for our heroine: Ripped from the pages of her “hooking” scrapbook, Sister Ann’s seedy past would make for potentially titillating exploitation fodder. (The seedy past of the two huge guys–not so much.)

If you’re insane like me, you’ve deliberately watched the un-MSTied version of Space Mutiny several times. And you’ve probably picked up on McPhearson alluding to the fact that he knew Ryder from an earlier encounter/association, and that Ryder is somehow responsible for his limp. So there’s a real reason for the animosity. It sounds interesting, so of course the movie brings it up then never mentions it again. And if Ryder was somehow responsible for McPhearson’s mental/physical condition, when he ends up roasting McPhearson alive, it makes him to be a REAL A-hole. Which again, interesting, so not in the movie.

Great responses. I’d like to see a back story of Dr. Vernoff from Bride of the Monster. There was a sequel of sorts Night of the Ghouls, but in the prequel, how did Dr. V. get kicked out of his former nondescript country and just how did he meet up with Lobo?
In a prequel to Sampson Vs. the Vampire Women we could find how, despite studying the vampire women his whole life, he still didn’t have a clue of where the V.W. hung out. Thus, saving his hot, middle-aged daughter from a fate worse than death–Sampson’s B.O. as he carried her from the fish-bowl castle.

Maybe because I’ve just watched “Untamed Youth,” I’d like to know what drove the cotton farmer Tropp to the Dark Side. He has all the attributes necessary to become a successful businessman — good looks, personality (when he turns it on), management and people skills — and yet he hooks up with an older woman he doesn’t care for, gets her elected judge, and exploits “youth” arrested on specious charges to pick cotton on his farm, instead of using migrant workers like every other farmer in California. The hell?

@24 I’d like to know Batwoman’s backs story. We never were told her true identity or motive to become a crime fighter.
I’d like to know about Mr B Natural’s back story. Yes, I consider him/her a villian. Maybe he/she/it is a muse, like one of the seven muses in Greek myth, except Mr B is evil and looks to grant talent to mediocre people in exchange for their souls. Would explain 99% of the acts on ‘America’s Got Talent’.

Gimme the real origin of Jim Mallon. Don’t pull any punches.
Employees of Rhino, Shout! and MST3K are encouraged to contribute data at the agreed upon secret drop location(s) built on the Wikileaks model.
Is it all a perception problem or is Jim indeed a genius villain with the best brain?

IIRC Rick Sloane wanted to do a Hobgoblins prequel, probably why he cast a middle-aged guy as elderly McCreedy.
We really need some fleshing out of Time of the Apes, so I suggest Rising of the Apes followed by Morning of the Apes.
@24 Batwoman Origins: Ratfink, showing how Rat Fink’s tragic addiction to eaves-dropping lead him down the path of evil and his first battle with hippie cult leader/vigilante Batwoman. Michael Fassbender is Rat Fink and Anne Hathaway is Batwoman.
Batwoman Origins: Neon, the tragic story of a dotty mad scientist and how his incompetence gets the better of him as he turns his benefactor/friend Heatcliff into a simpleton. Trace Beaulieu as Neon and Scott Thompson as Heathcliff.

How about The Adventures of Fingers O’Toole. One possibility is a 1950s sort
of B movies (like Charlie Chan) wherein he tries to solve various art robberies
(starting with proving Dino Lakopolous has been paying for stolen treasures.
Or he goes over to creating daring art and jewelry capers (insurance not paying
that well) in company with Creepy Girl (she having ditched that total jerk).
Sadly, Tommy Kirk’s effort to get her back by winning the Catalina Fish Swallowing
Tournament badly misfires, driving her into a torrid affair with Fingers.

I want to know more about The Great Vorelli’s past than the glimpse of his German years. Was he already a successful con artist and hypnotist before he lost his medical license? How many people’s minds had he placed into vent-figures before Hugo? Just how complicit was Butt-Lady in his crimes?
And perhaps most of all: was the fake beard so he could quickly change his appearance to escape a jam, or was there some reason he just couldn’t grow facial hair?
