When it comes to MST3K, I’m impossible to buy for. I tell people NOT to get me any MST3K gift because I like to have total control of my MST3K fate. My gift was NO ONE getting me the latest box set, which meant that I could order early and get a TON of stress balls. So, I gave a few of those as gifts!

Some nice gifts, including Mysty and Doctor Who related books.
But I didn’t get to decide who lives and who dies.

I didn’t get any MST-related stuff this year, but I had the laziest, haziest, Swayziest Christmas of them all.

    I think; it’s all a little fuzzy.

Boo-yah; 25th Anniversary set. Although I made sure to inform “Santa,” of the precise title. Sometimes he has brought me the Complete Babylon 5 Movie collection when I asked for the Babylon 5 Complete Series collection… (first world pout)

I got Volume 18 (asked for 27 but Roman Numeral interpretation isn’t what it used to be…) Either volume, I enjoyed tremendously (and got to introduce my wife to the cinematic splendor that is Coleman Francis’ Beast of Yucca Flats. A man goes to his parents’ for Christmas…. he gets a gift…)

My parents gave us $500 to splurge on Christmas a few weeks ago and I got the 25th Anniversary Set and the Movie on Blu-Ray. That’s the first Blu-Ray I’ve ever owned. :chic:

GF bought me wonderful new T-shirt with Crow and Servo. Her parents bought us a Blu-Ray player- and, we busted out MST-the movie on Blu-Ray. What an eyegasm. I could not believe how it was like watching a movie for the first time. Mike has a very disturbing mole on his face (sic)- and, the detail in the bots, well, it was as though I had been blind for my entire life.

I got MST3K Vs Gamera!!! It’s the first time in at least three or four years I’ve gotten any MST3K for Christmas, so I was thrilled.

Netflix adding TISCWSLABMUZ, The Beginning of the End, and I Accuse My Parents.
In fact, just the fact that Netflix seems to be building the number of titles to stream is -AWESOME-.
(I haven’t bought them as individual titles from Shout!, only because I don’t know if any of them will be released on a boxed set as well, sometime in the future.)

As far as MST3K-related items, in a round about way I got the 25th Anniversary set and some RiffTrax gift certificates that allowed me to get caught up on some of the recent releases by them (including 20 shorts!).

No MST3K related presents. I did offer to put some of those MST3K stress ball spaghetti logo balls, the ones that came in the recent SHOUT set, up on the tree as ornaments. DENIED!!!

I gave both of us (Shout!) set XXVII, because it was the only one we didn’t have, and my wife gave me one of THE coolest gifts ever (if you’re a Romanticist like I am):

Actually a home run of a present and totally MST-related:

Apple TV + EVERY MST3K episode currently on iTunes!

Only request – and it’s to Shout Factory – is to PLEASE release Master Ninja II on iTunes! Master Ninja I is already on there and it’s just not right to separate the two. It’s like having The Godfather and not The Godfather II. If, you know, The Godfather was a dopey 80’s ninja TV series.

My lovely lady made me an awesome MST related gift. She bought some pint glasses and etched the “shadowrama” logo into them! So cool to have my own MST set of pint glasses. Easily my favorite gift this year!

ALSO–In a gift-related side note–Amazon now has CT’s ‘rattlers’ back in stock! If you’re like me, you dragged your feet on buying it the first time and it went out of stock. Well…it’s back friends!

Merry Christmas to all you MSTies

I got volumes 8, 10.2, 11, 27 and 25AE. I never got the Rhino volumes while they were around and I wanted to have all the ones that the Shout Singles don’t collect episodes from. I also got some Doctor Who and Red Dwarf.

The main thing I wanted — and received — for Christmas was for our grown son to come home. He did, and was here for a week. He left for the trip back about an hour ago and I’m currently dropping many sad Mom tears on my keyboard.

At any rate, I got the all-Gamera MST3K set, and we watched the first one a couple of nights ago. We enjoyed Colonel Sanders-san and all cheered in vain for Gamera to eat obnoxious little Kenny. While my son was home we also watched “Danger!! Death Ray” and “Zombie Nightmare” together and had a great time.

My daughter bought me an iPad and loaded some gift cards on it for me. Found out they have lots of MST3K episodes on the store app, so I downloaded some. Oh, and I preordered the next set on Christmas using my new fancy tablet gizmo. So that’s that.

25th anniversary set, naturally! Actually, I got it as a gift to myself (the only way to guarantee you get something you really, really want!).

Back during the Rhino days, I would wait a few months after a set’s release for the price to go down a bit. One volume never did “go down”, and then went out of print. After paying a small fortune to get it, I caught up on all the Shout! Factory sets, and now I pre-order the new sets as they’re announced!

I now live alone with no one to gift but me…so, I took advantage of the Shout Factory year end Black Friday sale. I bought myself 6, count them, 6 DVD sets, including the tin Gamera collection.

This morning, I watched Volume 10’s illegal Godzilla film…I purchased it legitimately before it was pulled and replaced with 10.2.

Ashamed to say I did not follow the instructions and properly dispose of the “Mmmpfh vs Mmmmph” DVD as Joel instructed. I’m a naughty boy…a naughty boy!

As usual, I had to do it all myself–Got some free Amazon from net activities, so went out and got Vol. XXVII while the getting was good, but that was it.
A new computer, a new iPad, but nooo, I’m the only MSTie in my social circle and I have to get my own copy of Rocket Attack USA. ;)

@#9: That ended up being my first BluRay too!

Also got Volume 27 with bonus disc, but I must confess, I just had to start on my Blind Dead box-set first. As nice as a whole asteroid field of spaghetti-balls sounds, Shout! has yet to pack our favorite show in anything quite as awesome as that sturdy cardboard coffin.

And @#18: Dang it, I just bought Rattlers off ebay for $22. Well, that’s what I get for only saving searches in the tributaries. This shouldn’t get our hopes up for seeing the last 2 CT shows on DVD by next Christmas, should it?

    #25 and #28. Neither did I. I bought both 10.0 and 10.2, kept
Godzilla-san and gave the other three to a relative. (hey, it’s got
Della Street rolling in the hay with the plant lover). Now how
would Dr. F. think I should chastise myself?

My parents gave me two Muppet films on DVD. This may not technically be an MST3K gift, but I choose to count it as one.

I gave two Cinematic Titanic DVDs to a friend, who lives far enough away I suppose I’ll never see them with him, but I can hope.

I went ahead and bought myself the unreleased season 10 episodes from CheesyFlix. So now, after several years of dubbing VHS tapes onto DVD, buying official releases and filling in the rest from CheesyFlix, I finally have every available episode on DVD. It was a very Swayze Christmas indeed!

#25 I hear you. I bought Volume 10 when it first came out up here. Went on a trip to San Francisco, and found Volume 10.2 sitting on the shelf. Snapped that sucker up! I still have both sets complete. :-)

I received the 25th anniversary set. Fun to have. I think I have every DVD released at this point, so I’m a pretty happy camper with the direction of official MST3K releases these days. So far from the dark days of people owning the rights that just never relinquished. Now to work on It Conquered The World’s copyright holders. :)
