Has anyone has suggested their favorite film dance party? There seems to have been a ton of films on MST that featured parties.
My favorite has to be the mid-afternoon dance at the high school for the school teachers in “The Creeping Terror.” Lame big band music performed by a drummer and piano player.
I’m going to expand it a bit and ask: What party in a MSTed movie, with dancing or not, do you wish you’d been invited to?
I’m gonna go with that swingin’ boat party in “Catalina Caper.” Maybe I could get Little Richard’s autograph before he’s hustled out the back door.
What’s your pick?
The one with the harem of fire maidens in skimpy clothes.

I’d definitely party in ‘Eegah!’, if only to smash Arch Hall Jr. in the face with his guitar :)

How about the Halloween party in “I Was A Teenage Werewolf?” We could take turns dumping water on each other or the old snake jumping out of a can trick. It’ll be a riot, until Michael Landon goes beserk and eats one of us on the way home.

I’d go to one of those “We’re going to America” parties at Clonus- then, afterwards they could freezer wrap me so I’d stay grocer aisle fresh.

I’d go for Mariannes aunts charity ball in Devil doll, top class entertainment from the Great Vorelli and Hugo and a room full of delightful boozed up old broads, what more could a man ask for?

Trumpy using his magical abilities to do stupid things with clothes and toys is a party I’d like to be a part of.

Definitely got to be the slumber party of the secretaries in Horror of Party Beach. Even though Elaine skipped it.

There’s also the beach party in “Horror of Party Beach”. Sure, a bunch of hoods show up and there were some rather disturbing swimsuits on the men, but the music was really good.
Or one of the sock hops from “Untamed Youth”. Who’d have thought juvenile detention on a work farm would be so much fun?

I want to be at Sherry’s birthday party on the Southern Star with nude Sherry, the dead lady, Rick Ashley, Sting Debbie Reynolds and God. We can watch air shows with rejected Battlestar Galactica footage and jet propelled geese.
oh and Calgon can take us away.

Second on the beach party from Horror at Party Beach. Great band (no, really, those guys were pretty good!), one of those exotic Connecticut beaches, girls in bikinis and babushkas, men in too-small Speedos, biker gangs, Drew Carey impersonators, Romanian immigrant girls making out with anyone who comes by – what’s not to like?

1.Well, every night seemed like a party at Charlie Blake’s swinging nightclub, but he’d just have ya killed for talking to Kitty, so I’d probably want to join that neverending swinging shindig Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were a part of in I Accuse My Parents, ignoring all of our boring families in favor of the 1940’s version of Absolutely Fabulous-style drunken hedonism. We’d head down to Jack Taylor’s! He’s got lots of room and lots of liquor! And once we’d bled him dry, I’m sure we could find some other Hollywood party (that movie did take place in LA, right?) to leech off of! The party never ends!!! :cigarette:
2. Or, the impromptu dance party on the beach in Wild World Of Batwoman-that way I could join the crowd when they finally are driven mad by that repetitive surf-rock riff, snap, and rush the band to bludgeon them down with their own instruments. Even kids in the 60’s could only take so much.
Those, or the wrap party for Manos or any of the Coleman Francis or Ed Wood films. However, wrap parties might need a whole discussion thread of their own.

I’m surprised no one’s gone for the feast in “Hercules Unchained” yet. A little old fashioned maybe but hey… nymphs.
I wouldn’t mind it if we could swap out the nymphs for the men of the Chippendales calendar.

The dance party at the diner in “Teen-Age Strangler.” I always thought that band was the logical precursor to the White Stripes.

#12-I have to admit the giant feast/party in Magic Voyage of Sinbad was probably fun until Sinbad showed up and started scolding everyone. There’s always gotta be one….

I’d go for the wild pool party dancing at the end of Wild Wild World of Batwoman, just so I could shove them all in the water…and maybe hold Heathcliff under for a couple of minutes.

I’m thinking Christmas in LA with Buzz and Michelle at the Haunted House on Sunset. And of course Servo as the Lonely Cowboy Santa.

Definitely do not want to party at John Saxon’s house in Mitchell. He may have a lot of presents under his tabletop Christmas tree but the place has a creepy aura.

The grand opening of Club Scum. While my ears bleed from listening to the horrible music I’d put my arm around Rick Sloan and kidney punch his ass.

I’ll add another vote for the roving Wilson boozefest in I Accuse My Parents.

Obviously, Mary Jo’s drunken college get-together in one of the host segments of The Beast of Yucca Flats. “What’s your deal?! Don’t you party?” Then back to the SOL for some chess.

It’s a guilty pleasure to say it but the band playing at the party in Skydivers was kinda catchy (coulda done without “H.R. Haldeman on drums, saying “Ah sol”). The party on party beach (just before the horror begins) wasn’t too bad either. I would also have gone to the smaller, more intimate pool party in Teenagers from Outer Space (without Derek or Evil Fonzie) but you could not ever have dragged me to the Summerfest in SoulTaker, or to Club Scum on its best night.
“Everybody do the Zombie Stomp!”

If you could avoid bumping into Mitchell, the parade
and party looked great in Final Justice. Unless, of course,
you accidentally stepped on beloved Maltese child hero Goosio.

The middle-aged prom in The Creeping Terror. I’d be by far the best dancer there.

Any party that involves Jethro Tull blasted fromdorm window-mounted speakers; or a Wilson/Jack Taylor clam bake.

Either hanging out at another Wednesday night at Mitchell’s with a 12-pack of Schlitz…or with the nymphs as they attend to The Herc. I’d probably go with the nymphs if really forced to choose.

The fancy pants museum party from Werewolf…. I could hear, first hand, about Yuri not having any class AND that Paul was a warwilf!

I think for me, it would have to be the party from Creeping Terror. Mostly so I can see just what the hell was going on in the corner, with the two guys fighting and the woman apparently getting her blouse ripped off…

“Summerfest” on SoulTaker. The balloons, the beer…..the…well, there wasn’t much else, was there?

Sampo, I’d have to agree with you – definetly the party in Catalina Caper with Little Richard. I’d ask him to sing “Tooty Fruity”. XD

Horror Beach is jumping but Catalina (Caper) has the most parties. They have beach, scuba and Ferry parties. Little Richard no less!
Fun thread.

Oh yeah… and the wedding between Nashtia and the blond wierd-haired guy on “Jack Frost”.

How about the party on “She-Creature”? I would have loved to be there partying with all of the spinsters and the geezers. It would be great to see that caterer’s bow tie spin again when King the dog barks at him.

Gotta say the night jumping party in Skydivers. A bizzarre collection of characters, scotsman, giant lady, coffee man etc…
The teen party in Laserblast. ‘How are things at the Blue Lagoon?’ Sheet cake and back fat! Plus you can eat your ribs in the pool. But leave early before Cochise’s Charger is blown up.
How about the many drunken/drug filled parties in Hellcats? Girls with eye patches, trumpet players dumped into the stream, motorcycles pulling people apart.
Add my vote to those who say we need a thread on what wrap party you want to go to. Francis Coleman can’t make a movie, but I bet the wrap parties for his movies were fun. Also any of Ross Hagen’s movies look like they would have good wrap parties.

Definitely Lemminkainen and Aneki’s wedding in “The Day the Earth Froze.” Best place to get half a buzz going and sent home with a torch, but not before getting to hurl insults at the groom for being a failure to some catchy music the whole time.

The Wedding Feast of Anakee and The Failure (Lemon Pledge) from “The Day The Earth Froze”. Yeah, it ended rather abruptly but it still looked like a good time.
Second runnerup – the nightclub where Rod meets “Satan’s Angels”…other than them, the natives sure are friendly.
Third runnerup – Any freak out from “The Hellcats”. As long as you don’t “cube it”, could be fun.

I immediately thought of Girl With the Gold Boots: the party at the apartment with the go-go dancing, though truthfully it was not really my kind of party, a bit too sleazy and the mob ties would be a concern. But you can’t argue with go-go dancing.

I’d go to that Weed-and-Bongos party in Girl in Gold Boots. No, wait…I’d go to “The Place” in Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, and I’d go as a freakin’ anteater!!!

The beach party at The Horror of Party Beach.

I’d want to go to Largo’s Caftan Party in Operation Double 007. I think the ladies from the ship would be lovely dance partners, and I might then be able to understand just why Thayer Beta* is dressed like a space angel.
Monoceros @20, I’ve never thought of that as anything but a high school party, and an all-too-familiar one at that.
*I’ve seen the name spelled “Thair” but they drag it out like two syllables thay-er. Don’t get it at all.

Creeping terror… wanna see just how he’s doing that… sucking those ladies up and all. There’s something just…well, you know..about that… plus the crazy dancing woudl be fun. I could probably pick up one of those black and white chicks there easy.

The drinking party in Girl In Gold Boots. Any party with bongos in it, you know it’s going to be wild.

#2 Didn’t someone already smash Arch Hall Jr. in the face with a guitar?

Myself I’d go to any party the Cool Cats from Ring of Terror were playing at.
Rattle rattle thunder clatter boom boom boom.

The scavenger sale in What To Do On a Date seemed fun. Plus it would lead to wiener roasts!

How ’bout the crazy future rave with Blast McHardcheese and spaceage Debbie Reynolds on Space Mutiny. Afterwards, you could have a drunken cart race in the Boiler Ro…oops, I meean the Engine room.

Dei\finitely the night jump party from Skydivers. I’d even drop some weight so I could dance with that hot amazon lady. And Jimmy Bryant’s music is the best the SOL ever had!

I’d like to hang out at the coffee house in Rebel Set and listen to poetry and vibraphone music and see weird dancing . Maybe play chess while sipping a coffee and pouring over a new collection of Ginsberg poems. In my version, Lenny Bruce stops by for a set and we swop slang till the sun comes up.

It’s a tie between the Horror At Party Beach beach party with the Del-Aires and the kicking guitar of the Skydivers.
The party I wouldn’t want to go to would be The Creeping Terror’s. Can you imagine listening to that music OVER AND OVER AND OVER again, those weird dancers and being eaten by a giant slug/pile of rags?

@ Stickboy – Speaking of The Rebel Set, how about the shindig that the rotten writer was having to “celebrate” the rejection of his novel? We can do “The Forbidden Dance of Laura Petrie”!
