Stan Winston, RIP

MALIBU, Calif.—Stan Winston, the Oscar-winning special-effects artist perhaps best remembered for creating the terrifyingly realistic dinosaurs of “Jurassic Park” died here June 15 after a seven-year struggle with multiple myeloma. He was 62. MSTies will recall his work as special makeup creator for the movie in episode 1010- IT LIVES BY NIGHT.

Charles Pierce Retrospective?

The Arkansas Times considers the oeuvre of one Charles B. Pierce, artiste.

A retrospective of Pierce’s work is taking place at the –where else?– Arkansas Film Festival going on this weekend, which includes a screening of “The Legend of Boggy Creek” Sunday night.
