Beverly Hills, Calif. — Hugh Hefner, who created Playboy magazine and spun it into a media and entertainment-industry giant — all the while, as its very public avatar, squiring attractive young women (and sometimes marrying them) well into his 80s — died at his home here Sept. 27. He was 91.

RIP Kim Ki-duk

SEOUL — A veteran Korean film director best known for his melodrama hit “Barefooted Youth” in the 1960s, died Sept. 7 after battling lung cancer. He was 83. MSTies will recall that he directed the movie in episode 1109: YONGARY, MONSTER FROM THE DEEP.
