Trivia: This is the sixth of some 50 Mexican wrestling movies
which starred the masked EL SANTO (The Saint), renamed "Samson"
in English language versions. RODOLFO GUZMAN HUERTA (1917-1984) achieved
fame in Mexico as pro wrestler El Santo, El Enmascarado de Plata (The Silver
Maskman). He was more than a Hulk Hogan of his day and nation. Because he
stood for decency and fairplay, Santo was beloved and adored by his many
fans, not just for his wrestling talents. When the movie character Santo
wasn't wrestling, he was a crimefighter, traveling in his silver Bentley
which matched his silver mask and cape. Santo always wore his mask whenever
he was in public, even when he was not performing. When he retired, his
son took over the role, and continues to wrestle under the name El Santo,
and like his father, always wears the mask.
