 Most folks will remember Stan for his work in Jurassic Park, but to me he will always be remembered for bringing “Pumpkinhead” to the big screen.

Genius. With someone so great at practical effects, I hope the folks that would usually go to Stan won’t just run to CGI now. He gave bang for the buck work & most flicks with his involvement were usually good shows.
He was as proud of Wrong Turn as he was of T2 or whatever, so huge tip of the hat there. Cheers.

His name is all over the place on my DVD shelf. A great loss to effects fans.

A shocking loss… TOO YOUNG.
A true original who truly loved what he did, whether it be garage or Spielberg.

Just got back from seeing Iron Man. I sure hope Stan had some kind of underlings or an understudy or something. Cause man, that was some beautiful stuff in that movie.

I was really bummed to hear about this the other day. Mr. Winston did such wonderful work. I truly hope that more artists of the future do things Stan’s way instead of always relying completely on CGI. His credits are great going all the way back to Gargoyles.
Pumpkinhead is a great little film. Let’s also not forget he did the Wookie costumes for the Star Wars Holiday Special (another MST connection.) I have lots of fond cinematic memories of Mr. Winston’s work.

This news ruined my whole day when I found out, possibly my entire week. Stan Winston was a genre genius and I’m really gonna miss him. He did brilliant work, things no amount of CGI can bring to life.
